Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026 scheduled for October 23-25 in Colombo

The Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026 will take place on October 23, 24 and 25 at Viharamahadevi Park and Green Path in Colombo, Deputy Minister of Vocational Education Nalin Hewage said at a media briefing at the Department of Government Information on October 19. The event is intended to raise awareness of vocational education and help young people develop skills suited to future employment opportunities.

The exhibition is organised jointly by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education and the Agriculture Sector Skills Council. It aims to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements while encouraging young people to pursue vocational training.

Deputy Minister Hewage noted that although employment opportunities are expanding, a mismatch remains between the skills of job seekers and industry needs. He said the Government is working to develop a skilled workforce that meets the country's economic and industrial demands.

More than 24,000 students from provinces other than the Western Province have already registered to participate in the exhibition. Deputy Minister Hewage invited school students and other young people to visit the expo and explore opportunities to develop their skills and build their future careers.
