Showers or thundershowers expected in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m.

The Department of Meteorology said showers or thundershowers are expected after 1.00 p.m. today (03) at several places in most parts of the island.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Uva, North Western, Southern and North Central provinces, as well as in the Mannar District.

The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions are also expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
