Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Dilan Perera says despite shortcomings of the government he remains silent as the entire world has had to battle the impact of the coronavirus.
Speaking at a media briefing today, MP Perera said he is well versed in politics even though he is not part of the ‘Viyath Maga’.
While claiming that he will not agree to all actions of the government lately, MP Perera said during political turmoil in 1994 during the Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga led government and during the 2018 coup when then President Maithripala Sirisena appointed Mahinda Rajapaksa as Prime Minister, the coronavirus was not prevalent.
He claimed the impact the coronavirus has had in decision making must be taken into consideration.
However, he added he will not hesitate to condemn the wrong decisions and actions of the government.
MP Dilan Perera added the Head of State’s failure to seek expert opinion and acting on various decisions has led to the present government having to face many challenges.
MP Perera said he will not hesitate to point out the shortcomings of the government after the coronavirus pandemic has been eliminated.
