Today marks the second day of the indefinite strike launched by the Academy of Health Professionals.
Employees of several units including medical laboratory scientists and pharmacists are part of the strike action.

Kumudesh said the trade union action is underway successfully adding they regret the inconvenience caused to the public due to the trade union action.
He said they are attempting to provide voluntary services across main hospitals in order to reduce the burden caused to the public.
He noted they have no alternative as a responsible faction has not come forward to discuss the matter with the trade unions thus far.
He added the government has been avoiding the matter throughout the course of their trade union action.
Kumudesh said they will continue the strike until a favourable solution is provided, adding however they will take all possible steps to resolve the matter through discussions.
