The Department of Government Information has announced that vaccination cards will be inspected of persons above the age of 30 years after the 15th of September when visiting public places.
Earlier it was announced that said citizens will not be allowed to visit public places without the vaccination card after the 15th of September.
In a statement, the Government Information Department said Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva had stated that individuals should be able to confirm that they have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The decision has been taken following a meeting of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 earlier today.
