Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says necessary plans are in place to administer the third vaccine jab against COVID-19 to suitable individuals, adding steps will be taken to procure them when necessary.

Minister Rambukwella claimed that the country is in a favourable place at present in term of COVID mitigation and vaccination, as Sri Lanka has been ranked among the top five countries based on vaccination figures.

The Health Minister made this revelation during an event held today to unveil two videos on COVID prevention methods.

Minister Rambukwella noted that Sri Lanka’s home-based care programme for coronavirus infected individuals have also been recognised globally including by the World Health Organisation.

Meanwhile, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said although some claim they have been engaged in protests and demonstrations, it is not practical.
