The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says policy decisions are being taken to strengthen the country’s finances.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Parliamentarian Ranjith Bandara said the Central Bank has intervened to stabilise the economy.
He said the newly appointed Minister of Finance is taking decisions to guide the Treasury and the Finance Ministry in the correct path.
MP Bandara said subject Minister Basil Rajapaksa is taking appropriate decisions and sacrifices to strengthen the economy.
Parliamentarian Ranjith Bandara said within the next few months the vaccination process will be completed and then the economy can be strengthened by fully reopening the country.
He said the opposition should also advice the government on the economic matters instead of merely criticising the policies of the state.
Parliamentarian Ranjith Bandara noted that the opposition should also actively get involved in the policy making process and held the country come out of the present crisis.
