Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the three-match T20 series starting tomorrow.
He was diagnosed with COVID-19 a week ago while on the Australia tour and hasn’t recovered yet.
Wanindu Hasaranga was recently picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping IND 10.75 million at the IPL 2022 auction, making him the highest-paid Sri Lankan cricketer in IPL 2022.
The star Sri Lankan leggie didn’t arrive in India with the Sri Lankan squad as he was in isolation in Australia.
He tested positive for Covid in the latest test.
However, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Medical Committee said he was only ruled out of the 1st T20 and not the entire series.
But as the players will require a minimum of three-day quarantine and the last two matches are scheduled for February 26, 27, ruling him out of the entire series.
