The Association of Health Professionals says the country’s wage policy cannot be made anyone’s private property, using the teachers’ salary anomalies struggle as a pretext.
The Association said the National Salaries and Cadre Commission cannot determine salaries according to recommendations of the Government Medical Officers’ Association.
President of the Association Ravi Kumudesh speaking at a media briefing yesterday said the 2016/6 circular related to salaries is ineffective adding that the GMOA as a trade union has no business in this matter.
He urged the President and Prime Minister and the Salary Commission to intervene and amend the circular to address various distortions.
Ravi Kumudesh added other trade unions should also be able to determine salaries of the public service, if the GMOA has the ability to do so.
