‘Viking Mars’ the luxury passenger cruise ship called over at the Colombo Port today (18) with 900 passengers on board commencing the Winter season for cruise calls after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ship, which started its journey from Europe, reached Sri Lanka through the Middle East and visited India on Wednesday before docking in Sri Lanka.
The cruise ship will leave for Malaysia tomorrow at 6.30pm.
The ship, that docked in Sri Lanka after more than three years, has completed 650 trips with a crew of 450.
The local agent of the ship, Lanka Shipping and Logistics Company, said the tourists onboard the ship are currently visiting tourist attractions in Colombo, Galle and Pinnawala.
A group of Sri Lankans will also board the ship as part of the cruise ship experience.
