A decision has been reached to debate the Second Reading of the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill and Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bills on the 9th of December.
The decision was reached at the Committee on Parliamentary Business held today (25) under the Chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana.
Accordingly, the Secretary General of Parliament said time has been allocated from 9.30am to 10.30am for Questions for Oral Answers on the 9th, and from 10.30am to 5pm the Bills will be taken up for debate.
Furthermore, the Motion at the Adjournment Time by the government is scheduled from 5pm to 5.30pm on the same day.
The 9th of December was reserved for Questions for Oral Answers, yet was postponed to the 10th of December.
Furthermore, the Secretary General added that post the committee stage debate on the Appropriation Bill 2023 scheduled on the 30th, the Second Reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill related to the fiscal year 2022 and the Resolution under the Local Treasury Bills Ordinance will be presented in Parliament for approval.
