COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The van used by a groups who robbed an ATM machine of a private bank in Gampola, Kandy has been found.

Police said the van was found abandoned in Peradeniya while the driver was inside the vehicle with his limbs tied.

A group of individuals had dismantled and removed an ATM machine of a private bank in Gampola, Kandy in the early hours of today (25).

Police said four individuals wearing facemasks had arrived in a van at around 12.40am, assaulted the security officer and dismantled the ATM machine of a private bank along the Kandy Road in Gampola.

Police said an unspecified amount of cash has been robbed and investigations are underway by the Gampola Police to locate and apprehend the group.
