State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana says the government will not allow any child to be negatively affected by vaccinations against coronavirus.

Speaking to media State Minister Jayasumana said various individuals are trying to spread misinformation regarding the vaccination of children since certain hospitals began administering the jab yesterday.

The State Minister speaking on the current progress of the vaccination drive said close to 98% of individuals have received at least one vaccine dose in the 30+ age category.

He said those who have been not vaccinated are those that refuse to get the jab.

State Minister Jayasumana denied certain allegations of impotence caused by obtaining the vaccine and assured that childcare specialists in Sri Lanka have approved the vaccine for children.
