Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana says a group that looks at everything in a negative aspect is claiming that it will be a challenge to use organic fertiliser.
Speaking during an observational tour of a plantation using organic fertiliser in Baduraliya, the Trade Minister said planters are able to demand a higher price for cinnamon cultivated using organic fertiliser.
He noted such plantations show that claims that organic fertiliser cannot be used for plantations is merely a myth.
Minister Gunawardana added through the use of organic fertiliser, the country has a greater chance to win globally and economically.
The Minister stated real farmers will conduct experiments to find more ways to use organic fertiliser.
