United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz says the US is hoping to provide another consignment of vaccines to help control COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.
US Ambassador Alaina B. Teplitz made the pledge when she made a courtesy call on Speaker of House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana today.
The Communication Department of Parliament said a number of issues of mutual interest between Sri Lanka and the United States were discussed, including diplomatic and economic matters.
Furthermore, intended investments of the United States in Sri Lanka for the future of the energy sector were also discussed.
The statement said the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka also expressed to the Speaker that the US continues to support development in Sri Lanka and protecting democracy amidst the COVID-pandemic.
