The University Grants Commission will recommence accepting applications for admissions to state universities for the academic year 2020 from today.
Speaking to NewsRadio Chairman of the UGC, Professor Sampath Amaratunge said applications will be accepted until the 30th of July.
He said students who completed the 2020 Advanced Level Examinations can submit applications online to [email protected].
Professor Amaratunge said a decision was taken in this regard, since many students complained of being unable to submit applications due to recent travel restrictions imposed in Sri Lanka due to the coronavirus.
The timeframe granted to submit applications for the year 2020 ended on the 18th of June.
However, a grace period has been granted for students to submit applications online from today to the 30th of July.
The Chairman of the University Grants Commission added that students who apply online will receive two weeks to change their major or course selection.
