(NewsRadio); Two teenagers have died by drowning while bathing in the Henanigala tank in Dehiattakandiya.
The teenagers, who were in the area on an excursion from Habaraduwa had drowned while swimming in the tank with several others earlier today.
The boys had suddenly drowned and according to Police they were rescued by area residents and rushed to the Dehiattakandiya Hospital.
However, the duo had passed away upon admission to the Dehiattakandiya Hospital.
The deceased, aged 17 and 19 were residents of Habaraduwa.
Corpses are currently held at the Dehiattakandiya Hospital while the Dehiattakandiya Police is conducting further investigations.
