Two Indian nationals have been arrested at the Arrivals Terminal of the Bandaranaike International Airport by Sri Lanka Customs officers for bringing down a stock of medicines without the consent of the Ministry of Health and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority.
Customs Media Spokesman, Customs Director Sudatha Silva said the duo who arrived in Sri Lanka on board a flight from Chennai, India was arrested at 1:15 this morning.
The stock of medicines was concealed in their hand luggage. Around 10 types of medicine used to treat various illnesses were found.
The Customs is conducting further investigations.
