Two dead, three injured, 1,500 affected due to bad weather

Two persons have died while three others have sustained injuries due to adverse weather conditions experienced in the country.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Two persons have died while three others have sustained injuries due to adverse weather conditions experienced in the country.

The number of persons affected by inclement weather across the country is at 1,511.

The Disaster Management Centre said 346 families in three districts have been affected by heavy rains and gusty winds.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at times over most parts of the country.

The Met Department said heavy showers above 150mm can be expected at some places.

Strong gusty winds of about 40-50kmph can also be expected at times over the country.
