A stock of 183kg and 715g of Kerala cannabis has been seized during a special operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police, at a roadblock in Mannar.
Two individuals have also been arrested in connection to the incident while a lorry used in the racket has been seized.
The stock of Kerala cannabis was concealed in 87 packages among pharmaceuticals, cosmetic and hygiene products being transported in the lorry.
Meanwhile, the street value of the seized stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be over Rs.55 million.
The 28 and 34 year old suspects are residents of Kandy and Trincomalee.
The Murungan Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
