Two arrested over the Rajagiriya hit-and-run incident

Police have arrested two individuals in connection to the incident of causing injuries to a group of Police officers who were carrying out a narcotics raid in Rajagiriya, on the 20th of September.

Police have arrested two individuals in Thalangama, in connection to the incident of causing injuries to a group of Police officers who were carrying out a narcotics raid in Obeysekarapura, Rajagiriya, on the 20th of September.

Police had also seized the vehicle involved in the accident. Police said the chief suspect in the incident has been identified, adding he is a resident of Nugegoda.

Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent Nihal Thalduwa said he is also connected to several other criminal incidents.

Police officers had inspected his residence, while several special teams have been deployed for further investigations.

SSP Thalduwa said the officer who sustained injuries in the accident is recovering.
