The opposition claims it is willing to support all policies that would benefit the country and the people.
Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka said although government Ministers claim the country’s financial stability is at an optimum level, it has been proven wrong due to suffering of Sri Lankans.
He accused the present administration of treating locals as beggars.
The MP expressed his regret over the decision by the government which distributed a Rs.2,000 allowance adequate for two days, in hope that people can survive with it for an entire month.
Speaking in Parliament today, MP Fonseka accused the government of making false promises to the public, through its policy statement.
The Parliamentarian called on authorities to treat the people with respect and not waste public funds for personal benefits.
MP Sarath Fonseka also requested the government and its affiliated parties to not spread religious extremism and terrorism in hope of retaining political power.
MP Fonseka said the government failed to take action against the perpetrators of the Easter Attacks, and are now propagating extremist views in an attempt to hold on to power.
