The transportation of animals and meat has been permitted once again across the island.

The Department of Animal Production and Health announced that livestock deaths have subsided as of now.

The Department said cattle, goats and chicken died of shock due to the extreme cold on the 8th and 9th of December which has now subsided.

The Department of Animal Production and Health said lab tests confirmed that the animal deaths were not due to an epidemic.

Accordingly, the transportation of animals and meat is once again permitted.
