Sri Lanka Railways says necessary advice has been issued to resume train services if the government decides to lift the island-wide quarantine curfew on the 1st of October.

General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said based on government guidelines, trains will be operated within provinces or measures will be taken to resume inter-provincial train services.

He said they will require support for operations from all departments while guidelines have already been issued to be on standby in order to resume rail services once curfew is lifted.
