COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The total number of foreign nationals who have visited Sri Lanka this year is nearing one million.
According to data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 970,006 tourists have visited Sri Lanka this year.
More than 100,000 visitors each arrived in the country in the first eight months of 2023, other than in May.
According to latest data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 65,688 tourists arrived in the island thus far in September.
The SLTDA said in September, the highest number of tourists arrived from India.
A total of 17,897 Indian nationals have visited Sri Lanka thus far in September.
Meanwhile, the SLTDA added that 4,679 tourists from the United Kingdom, 4,580 from Germany, 4,105 tourists from Russia, 3,588 from China and 3,524 tourists from Australia also arrived in Sri Lanka this month.
