Sri Lanka’s swimming sensation Aniqah Gaffoor was eliminated from the Women’s 100m Butterfly event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Gaffoor finished second in Heat 1.
She however failed to progress to the next round, ranking 32nd among 33 competitors for the best 16 athletes to progress to the Semi-Finals of the Women’s 100m Butterfly.
Aniqah Gaffoor finished with a time of 1:05.33.
China’s Yufei Zhang and Australia’s Emma McKeon, both recorded the best times with 55.82.
Sweden’s Sarah Sjoestroem recorded the third best time of 56.18.
Two Americans, two Australians and two swimmers representing the Russian Olympic Committee are also in the final 16.
