COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts several spells of showers in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces today.

The Met Department said showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
