COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts several spells of showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

The Met Department said a few showers can also be expected in the Central and North-Western provinces.

It added showers or thundershowers are likely in a few places in the Eastern, Uva and North-Central provinces during the evening or night.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
