COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, Southern and Northern provinces and in the Trincomalee district.
The Met Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere over the island particularly during the afternoon or night.
It added strong winds of about 40-45kmph can be expected at times over the western and southern coastal areas and in the western slopes of the central hills.
Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
