The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Central and North western provinces and in the Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Mannar districts during the afternoon or night.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Central and North western provinces and in the Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Mannar districts during the afternoon or night and fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places elsewhere during the afternoon or night.

The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
