COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Today’s two night mail trains between Colombo and Badulla have been cancelled.
The Railway Control Room said accordingly the night mail that is scheduled to leave the Colombo Fort Station to Badulla at 8pm and the train that is scheduled to leave the Badulla Station to the Colombo Fort Station at 6.05pm have been cancelled.
Meanwhile, the special train due to leave the Badulla Station to Colombo at 7.30pm has also been cancelled considering the safety of the public.
Meanwhile, several other train journeys were also cancelled along the Main Line due to adverse weather.
The Railway Control Room said the train that was due to leave the Badulla Station to Colombo Fort at 10.15am and the train scheduled to leave for Nanu Oya from Colombo Fort at 12.40pm were cancelled.
The Control Room added that a mound of earth had fallen onto the rail track between Peradeniya and Pilimathalawa Stations as well.
Furthermore, the Kandy Railway Station was inundated earlier today due to heavy rains in the area.
The Railway Control Room said accordingly, train services along the Main Line were disrupted throughout the day.
