COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Tamil National Alliance is scheduled to meet President Ranil Wickremesinghe today to engage in talks to settle the national question.
A statement issued by the Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the TNA Parliamentarian R Sampanthan states that the TNA is ready to constructively engage in talks with the government to settle the Tamil National Question within a specified time limit.
According to the TNA statement, the Northern and Eastern Provinces were made a single unit on the basis, that the two areas are the historic habitation of the Tamil speaking people.
The TNA said it is not prepared to hold any discussion that goes contrary to that basis.
