COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The All-Ceylon Three-Wheeler Owners’ Association has decided to reduce three-wheeler fares by Rs.20 per kilometer.
President of the Association Sudil Jayaruk said the decision was taken in line with today’s petrol price reduction.
He said accordingly three-wheeler operators across the country have been advised to reduce the fare for a kilometer to Rs.80 from the second kilometer.
Sudil Jayaruk said the new fares will come into effect from midnight.
He also requested the government to intervene and prevent operators from charging fares as they please and causing severe hardship to passengers.
Sudil Jayaruk noted the importance of further regulations to safeguard the industry and those who are part of it.
It was announced earlier today that the domestic fuel prices have been revised with effect from midnight.
Accordingly, the price of a litre of Octane 92 petrol has been reduced by Rs. 60 to Rs. 340.
The price of a litre of Octane 95 petrol has been reduced by Rs. 135 to Rs. 375.
Meanwhile, the price of a litre of Auto diesel has also been reduced by Rs. 80 to Rs. 325.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said the price of a litre of Super diesel will come down by Rs. 45 to Rs. 465.
Furthermore, the price of a litre of Kerosene oil will be reduced by Rs. 10 to Rs. 295 from midnight.
Lanka Indian Oil Corporation also announced that it will revise domestic fuel prices with effect from midnight.
LIOC informed customers that the fuel prices at LIOC filling stations will be the same as at Ceylon Petroleum Corporation-run filling stations from midnight.
