COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Three persons have died while 15 others have sustained injuries due to adverse weather conditions experienced in the country during the past three days.
The number of persons affected by inclement weather across the country has increased to 10,434.
The Disaster Management Centre said 3,006 families in 16 districts have been affected by heavy rains and gusty winds in the past few days.
According to the DMC, 2,721 houses have been damaged due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at a few places in the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces during the afternoon or night.
The Met Department said a few showers are likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle andMatara districts.
Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
