Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen says all individuals responsible for the death of the 16 year old while at his residence, should be brought to book regardless of their rank in society.

Speaking in Parliament today the MP said an independent investigation must be carried out while the truth must be revealed to the country.

Bathiudeen requested Minister Johnston Fernando and Minister Sarath Weerasekera to take action against those involved in the incident.

Minister Fernando in response said the government nor the President will remain silent during such an incident, adding that all individuals connected to the child’s death will be held accountable.

Minister Fernando requested MP Bathiudeen to let authorities carry out investigations to identify and arrest all individuals connected to the case.

Minister Fernando assured the government will treat everyone equally under one law, despite criticism from the Opposition.
