Former Sri Lanka batsman Thilan Samaraweera has been named in the New Zealand coaching set-up.
New Zealand is slated to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan ahead of the forthcoming T20 World Cup.
According to New Zealand media reports Samaraweera will be part of both series.
Tom Latham will lead New Zealand in T20 series against Bangladesh and ODIs against Pakistan.
The squad leaves for Bangladesh on August 23 for the T20I series while Pakistan ODIs will begin on the 17th of September.
Meanwhile, regular skipper Kane Williamson will resume duties for the T20 World Cup after completion of his IPL commitments.
