The strike action to withdraw from online teaching initiated by teacher trade unions demanding salary anomalies be rectified, is in its 16th consecutive day.

Speaking to NewsRadio General Secretary of Sri Lanka Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin said he expects the government to provide practical solutions to concerns raised by the trade unions, through the Cabinet Paper due to be tabled tomorrow.

Stalin noted the Minister of Education has promised to respond to requests of teachers and resolve all issues between the two parties.

He warned the issue will escalate into further trade union action if the government fails to provide answers.
