Teacher unions are to be informed of the outcome of the Cabinet meeting held yesterday, to resolve trade union action by teachers and principals island wide based on several demands, including addressing salary anomalies.

Speaking to media before the commencement of the meeting, Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Service Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said they are hoping to discuss the contents of the Cabinet paper with other teacher unions after the discussion.
