A discussion will be held today between teacher principals trade unions and the Ministerial Sub-Committee appointed to resolve issues of teachers and principals’ salaries anomalies.
When inquired by NewsRadio, trade union representatives said the discussion will be held in Colombo this evening.
The meeting was scheduled be held yesterday but was postponed till today.
Meanwhile, the Ministerial Sub-Committee said steps will be taken to submit a report to the Cabinet of Ministers that will include its observations following the discussions.
Member of the committee Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said nine rounds of discussions have been held with the participation of 20 teachers’ and principals’ trade unions.
Minister Alahapperuma said they hope to conclude discussions with trade unions in the near future.
He said future measures will be taken tomorrow, adding the report will be presented to the President by the Cabinet.
The Minister claimed this is not an attempt to delay providing a solution to their grievances.
