COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Tamil National Alliance has announced that it has decided to boycott the 75th National Independence Day celebrations.
TNA Spokesman Parliamentarian MA Sumanthiran said they will boycott the Independence Day celebrations to be held on the 4th of February, since the Tamil people have not received their freedoms despite the country gaining independence from Britain in 1948.
MP Sumanthiran claimed that no one living in the country at present, enjoys any freedom despite preparations are underway to celebrate the 75th Independence Day.
He said they will declare the 4th of February as black day, and will launch a campaign to obtain proper independence.
