(NewsRadio); Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has commended the intervention of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Sri Lanka to improve the living standards of the people in the North and other parts of the island.
In a twitter post, Annamalai said Indian Prime Minister Modi has gone the distance in Sri Lanka where no other leader across the world had gone previously to deliver projects to a neighbouring country to further ties.
Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai also highlighted the two historic visits of the Indian Premier to Sri Lanka in 2015 and 2017.
He said the development projects launched with the assistance of India on a massive scale in the Northern and Central provinces are either completed or on the verge of completion.
Annamalai said such projects are evidently resulted in positive change and economic prosperity of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
He highlighted the supported rendered by India to develop the Jaffna airport, Northern railway line, the introduction of a new train to Jaffna from Colombo, assistance to upgrade the Kankesanturai Harbour and housing projects launched in the Central and Uva provinces.
Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai added that India has been pushing Sri Lanka to implement the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in letter and spirit, which according to him will benefit the people of the Northern Province.
K Annamalai also visited Sri Lanka recently and held talks with several factions.
