The Twenty20 series between Sri Lanka and Oman will get underway today.
Oman and Sri Lanka will compete in the two-match series in preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
The two games will be hosted at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground.
The first game is due to get underway at 4pm Sri Lanka time.
Sri Lanka suffered a 3-0 series whitewash last time out against South Africa and this will be an important series as they bid to find some form ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The Lankans were comprehensively beaten in all three of the games.
They will be desperate to win and to win well in this opening game with Oman but they come into the series without Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera as the duo are competing in the Indian Premier League.
Oman has shown plenty of quality in T20 cricket.
It is with the ball where they look the most potent and they will believe they have the weapons to cause the Sri Lankans some problems when they are at the crease but their lack of action since 2019 will be a concern.
