State Minister Kanaka Herath has requested the Opposition to support the government in mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic instead of staging protests for political gain.

Speaking to media in Colombo, State Minister Herath claimed the spread of the coronavirus could be mitigated if the opposition supports the government.

The State Minister said the Opposition is staging protests in various locations with the aim of political gain.

He requested the Opposition to join hands with the government adding protests can be held later.
