The strike launched by several trade unions in the health sector has ended.
The strike was launched at 7.30 this morning by several trade unions including the Joint Council for Professions of Supplementary Medicine.
The strike was brought to an end after three hours.
Convenor of the Joint Council for Professions of Supplementary Medicine Ravi Kumudesh said a decision was reached to suspend trade union action as the agreements reached during discussions have been issued in writing.
Ravi Kumudesh said the Health Secretary yesterday decided to continue the rotational basis to summon health workers to work, while several other matters were also discussed regarding recruitments.
He noted the decision to suspend the strike action immediately was reached after taking into consideration the response by the Health Ministry and the responsibility towards patients.
