The Sri Lanka Public Health inspectors Union says it is important to have a steady flow of vaccines at vaccination centres, over promoting vaccinations.
Union Chairman Upul Rohana said the public has not been informed of the types of vaccines being administered at respective vaccination centres.
Therefore, the PHI requested the government to distribute adequate vaccine doses to centres, in order to fulfil the demand.
Rohana noted people were demotivated as the supply of vaccine doses is less that the demand.
Therefore, the PHI Chairman claimed the public was contacting the PHI over ways of obtaining a vaccine dose.
He noted the health sector is being bombarded with such phone calls of people wanting to get vaccinated.
