Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll exceeds 11,000

Another 157 COVID-19 related fatalities have been confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the coronavirus death toll in the country to 11,152.

Another 157 coronavirus related fatalities have been confirmed in Sri Lanka, raising the death toll to 11,152.

The Director General of Health Services in a statement said all 157 deaths occurred yesterday, the 10th of September.

70 males and 87 females were among the victims. 130 persons, 63 males and 67 females among the group that succumbed to the virus, were 60 years of age or above.

Meanwhile, 23 individuals, six males and 17 females, were between 30 and 59 years of age.

Four individuals, a male and three females who were below the age of 30 years also passed away yesterday after contracting the novel coronavirus.
