Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases tally increases to 311,349

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 311,349 following the detection of 2,510 patients yesterday.

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 311,349 following the detection of 2,510 patients yesterday.

Among yesterday’s cases 2,490 were linked to the New Year COVID-19 cluster.

20 persons who arrived in the country recently from overseas also tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 27,998 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

Yesterday, 1,792 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 278,910.

1,238 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
