Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases tally hits 450,000

Another 2,780 COVID-19 cases have been detected in Sri Lanka today, raising the number of confirmed infections to 450,537.

Another 2,780 COVID-19 cases have been detected in Sri Lanka today, raising the number of confirmed infections to 450,537.

All new cases have been linked to the New Year COVID-19 cluster.

Accordingly, the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 60,767 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.

Earlier today, 1,998 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 380,166.

Sri Lanka’s coronavirus death toll is currently at 9,604.
