Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 caseload increases to 534,423

Another 563 COVID-19 cases reported during the second week of October have been added to the national tally following the verification process.

Another 563 COVID-19 cases reported during the second week of October have been added to the national tally following the verification process.

The Ministry of Health said the cases were reported between the 8th and the 14th of October.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 caseload has increased to 534,423.

Meanwhile, 276 persons who contracted the novel coronavirus have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries to 502,740.

The Epidemiology Unit noted that 18,121 persons are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 at either home or at designated facilities.

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 related death toll is currently at 13,562.
