Sri Lanka ended Day Three of the Second Test against West Indies on 46/2 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Pathum Nissanka was unbeaten on 21 while Charith Asalanka was on 4 at stumps.

Oshada Fernando was dismissed for 14 while skipper Dimuth Karunaratne was out for 6 during the second innings.

Both batters were run out. Sri Lanka still trails by three runs with two days to play.

Earlier, Ramesh Mendis spearheaded the Sri Lankan attack to restrict West Indies to 253 in the first innings.

Mendis finished with impressive figures of 6/70 to go with his seven-wicket haul in the first game of the series. Spinners Lasith Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama picked up two wickets apiece.

For the visitors, skipper Kraigg Brathwaite top scored with 72.

Jermaine Blackwood hit 44 while Kyle Mayers remained unbeaten on 36. Sri Lanka was bundled out for 204 in the first innings after opting to bat first.

Sri Lanka lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the opening game at the same venue.
